Conversation With Someone I Didn´t Know

A normal day in my life is a bit curious. It consists of greeting the majority of people I know at school (6 of the 7 days of the week); greeting with a "hello teacher", "hello friend" or by their respective names, besides trying to learn names whenever I can. Aditionally to that,in my free time out of school I try to meet new people.

Interesting is when there is an event attended by people who had never seen, environments in which I think I develop well. An example of this is the GRULAC JR, an event in Bogota. This year I attended for the fourth time in a row, there I engaged in conversation with several people, leaving my school group aside most of the time. The funny thing was that there was a girl that I had never seen in my life, she was from Bogota. She, in one of our conversations, mentioned that she had a farm in Villavicencio, which she used several times per month, and had friends in the city. Adding that she had already seen me several times and believed that many people in the city knew me. Turning this really strange.

As Dickinson says:

"I'm Nobody!"

I do not consider myself someone I know many people, in fact, compared to many, I know very little people.

"How dreay - to be - Somebody (...) To tell one's name"

It is something that I have thought many times, because to be known by many people, you are prepared to if you go down the street to greet or uncomfortable. Very brave one who wants to be known by the streets and be greeted.

This does not mean that I do not want to meet new people, but I do not want what many call "fame"

"Fame is a fickle food (...) Men eat of it and die"

It is called double-edged arme because you can get a lot with it while losing it.

Returning to that day, in that conversation I kept sounding his words. As if I could somehow be right. It is not that it is well known, but I do know some people that are different in much aspects like social position, school, nationality, place in wich I met them... So that lets the posibilitie to be a person who knows some people.

That's how I've been thinking about that conversation. Therefore, being in agreement with those words, I am a faithful believer that I know to see people, but not to be considered famous. End to which I do not want to arrive. I do not want to be part of the ephemeral fame for banal issues, I want that fame that is different when you try to change the world in a good environment; that fame that makes you a person, not which takes away your humanity.
